words

I stopped reading

everyone else’s words

except yours

your words always sang

and when they did

my heart twirled

and my soul swayed

wishing

there would be a day

when you would speak

those words

your words

ones I had heard as

your voice

in my head

your whisper

in my ear

your sigh

on my neck

your lips

on mine

our souls

in one room

your words

in my air

only my air

    1. Thank you. I had been working on another piece that was about a heartbeat, so maybe the idea transferred? At the end of this one I did choose to use phrases I could say in one breath. I love that it reminds you of breathing. That resonates to how the subject felt to me. Thanks again.
