break the seal

I was wrapped in our possibilities

vacuum sealed all my air sucked

from these gasping lungs

suffocating on potential

of could be

hopeful one precisely sharp moment

would puncture my package

breaking the seal of someday

breathing fresh air into us

soft scent of linen drying on the line

carried through our musty dreams with others

a new life in their breezy sway

whisking away the mothballs of past packing

replaced with clean cotton winds within the fibre

lacing us and our hands as we walk

in the air

together
